My career as a professional artist began with expertise in traditional art methods acquired at Ontario College of Art (now OCAD). Upon leaving OCA, I chose freelancing as the most appropriate way to turn my talent into a business and specialized in airbrush illustration for editorial and corporate clients. There has always been more demand for graphics than illustration. This fact led me to continually refine my aptitude for pure design, while also pursuing illustration jobs. Subsequently, the lion’s share of my output in recent years falls into the category of ‘graphics’. With the introduction of digital media into the world of commercial art, my method of producing artwork changed radically. Many of my skills are intuitively self-taught and I adapted to creating graphics digitally. However, I still sought college level re-education where needed. Throughout my career, I have produced artwork for major corporate clients while also creating illustrations for the book & magazine market and examples of this work are displayed throughout the website. Additionally, I am well versed in the sculpting & molding skills needed to produce 3-dimensional prototypes and packaging.   Continued below...
				I have never underestimated the importance of thorough research before putting pencil to paper and this maxim has served me well over the years. Sometimes, special projects require spending more time sorting through reference archives than preparing actual artwork. My series of corporate art prints under license from Team Canada Hockey, Zamboni and illustrations for ‘The Dinosaur Question & Answer book’ all represent this philosophy.
